I have multiple Dell E5430 laptops that will not longer charge the battery. I have tried updating BIOS, using older BIOS, swapping batteries, removing that scanning for updated battery drivers, have tried multiple adapters removed residual power, replaced power jack, reseated memory, pretty much every fix I have found (except replacing the motherboard) on this community board and others.

The common thread seems to be that if no battery is installed and I boot with only AC power, the charger is detected in BIOS. If I power down, install a charged battery, plug in the charger, power up, the charger is not recognized in BIOS and the battery will not charge.

In this group of laptops, some are having the problem and some are not. There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason to this problem.
