D800 and Windows 2003
I have just bought a new D800.
It arrived yesterday, and all I have really had time to do with it was finish off the Win XP Pro installation, and pop an extra memory module in the back. All works perfectly.
So now I want to wreck all this and put Windows 2003 (Standard) Server on the machine. The basic question is, has anyone done this and are there any pitfalls I should watch out for?
The laptop has all the standard Latitude ports and parts, plus the factory-fitted Bluetooth card. Obviously I'd like for all of these things to work under Win2K3.
The reason I pose this question on a forum rather than directly to Dell Support is that I am sure the official stance is that the Latitude is considered "desktop" kit and has therefore not been tested with a server operating system.
But does anybody out there know better?
TIA,
Pete
