flat panel choice for sight-impaired user
I've been asked to assist in selecting a flat panel monitor for an elderly gentleman who is somewhat sight-impaired.
Off the top-of-my head [w/o taking the sight issue into account] I'd recommend something like my 2007FP, which of the three FPs I have, I like the best.
However, I'm concerned about the resolution: On mine, I have it set for the highest resolution and the text is quite small. Having worked on this user's machine [he's got a 15" CRT], I know that his resolution is set so that everything is gigantic.
If we were to get him a 19" or 20" screen and set the resolution low so that the text was larger, wouldn't the windows actually occupy only a small portion of the screen?
I want to recommend the best possible option for him, but need to take these isues into account.
Additional information: Here are the video specs for the system:
Chipset: Integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA)
Video Bus: PCI Express x16
Shared Video RAM: 64 MB (Max)
[I'm unclear as to which monitors would be OK w/only 64 MB of video RAM.]
Any suggestions?

For example, I installed Firefox on his machine specifically so that he could enlarge the fonts, but I know he never uses it because he's more comfortable with IE and probably doesn't remember how to make the fonts larger in Firefox.]
