I have been running ME on Dimension 4100 since 2000.  Yes, very old system. 

I plan to purchase a new laptop but want to wait until Vista bugs are worked out.

My husband has a laptop with WindowsXP Professional with Publisher Version 2002.  It came preloaded and the discs have never been used. 

Can I download this onto my computer. It does meet the requirements for the XP?  It came with SP 1 disc also.  Can II download the XP and then uninstall ME?  How does that work?

Since MS has stopped supporting ME I need to switch to something.  My Dimension still runs pretty good and I have had no major problems with it and would like to use it even after I get the laptop. 

I would appreciate any comments or disadvantages anybody might have about my situation.  Will I have major problems with this.
