Win8 VDI - on vW7.6 / vSphere 5.1 ...cant access the tiles ??
Hi All...
ive setup a small Win8 64bit ( RTM ) VDI pool on our vWorkspace 7.6 test enviroment
Hypervisor end - vSphere 5.1 / vmware
i can create the Win8 VDI ( 2G ram 35G disk ) from a template ( contains latest vmware tools and pntools 7.6 )
created the VDI's in "workgroup" mode for now - not added to our AD at the moment
issue :
I can get access to the Win8 VDI via AppPortal ( from win7 client )
I can login ok
I get the tiles ( metro UI ) appear
THEN NOTHING ?? , tiles appear on screen but the mouse or keyboard does not respond ??
any idea's ???? has anyone else seen this ???
i've turned of all EOP features
if i direct RDP to the Win8 VDI - all works fine , mouse / keyboard actions work on the Metro UI

Hi All...any other things i can try to resolve this ???
it seem to be that is something to do with client side ( via appPortal or WebAccess )
looks like mouse / keyboard is not passed to the Win8 VDI - so cant move around the screen
i can confirm - MS Rdesktop direct works fine ? and i can click on the tiles
any idea's

Hello,
As this is a Test box I wonder, have you installed AppPortal onto the Win8 VDI?
If you have, disable AutoShare on the Virtual USB hub as it could be capturing the Keyboard/Mouse
Do you have remote access to this so I can test it from here ?
Cheers.
