DVD/CD drive program removed
I think I accidentally removed my CD/DVD drive from my computer. Not physically - but while removing unwanted programs from my Inspiron B120, I removed a program called Roxio drag to disk, and now I don't even see the CD/DVD drive listed as present on my computer.
I cannot play or burn CDs or DVDs, and before I removed this program, I could.
This Roxio program was not original to this machine - I had my laptop wiped and the OS reinstalled last year, and Roxio was part of how it came back from the shop.
Are there drivers or something I need to install? Can I get back my CD/DVD player without doing a complete restore? And, if I have to do a restore, is there any way to keep all the stuff I've downloaded since I lost my DVD/CD drive?
Thanks. Any information will help.

Look in the Device Manager .............
Start | Control Panel | System in classic view | Hardware tab | Device Manager
Click on the (+) next to DVD/CD-ROM drives. Right-click the drive and select
Properties. Is there an Error Code (number)?

Thanks for your advice.
Yes, it's a code 39. It says Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware - the driver may be corrupted or missing.
Should I do what the troubleshooter says and start the add hardware wizard?
