We have two MDS 9509 Switches. We recently completed a data centre move and for the duration of the move, we had two VSANs running on one 9509 and 9214 edge switches dual connected to both VSANs to represent the two physical fabrics which would eventually exist when we moved our second MDS switch into the same location.

We have now moved the second 9509 into place which will be our redundant fabric and we have plugged it into VSAN B on the first switch so that it will join the fabric and inherit device alis/zoning info. This worked fine but we now want to move some of the edge switches from the first switch to the second MDS switch. The switches will be plugged into the same VSAN but the question is, can we just unplug the existing ISLs and move these to the new switch?

Once the switch is unplugged, what zoning/device info will remain on the edge switch given that there is no zoneset configured on this switch as it is centrallly distributed from the 9509? There are entries in the device-alias database but will this cause problems when it is plugged back into the VSAN?
