5400 Overheating
Hi everyone
I have multiple latitude 5400 with the same problem, overheating. I have already contacted with dell pro support but unfortunately they stated that temperatures 94-95 Celsius on CPU thermistor is something normal which is not.
Some users are not able to work because of the noise made by fan and keyboard temperature which burning their fingers.
Yes, BIOS is up to date and Dell Power Manager installed, but let me be clear that did not fix problem at all...

I am also facing the same issue. too much heating and too much fan noise i just work only in microsoft office and pdf files and youtube in my 16gb 512gb ssd i58365U dell latitude 5400 vpro with AMD540X and Intel UHD620

I had the same issue. When i turned off the CPU TurboBoost in BIOS the temperature dropped down to around 45 ~ 50 C. Turning off the TurboBoost comes with performance cost.

Please confirm if the version of BIOS current running on your Lat 5400 is 1.13.0.
You said you have installed Dell Power Manager as well:
Launch the application and under the Battery Information, click “Settings” set for battery setting change to from “Adaptive” to “Primary AC Use”.
Go under Thermal Management, customers can select “Cool Mode” if they would like the system to run cooler.
Go under Thermal Management, customers can select “Quiet mode” if they would like less fan noise.
Also, please refer to the following link and install Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Driver/Intel Dynamic Tuning Driver, do Restart after installing it.
