Additional SATA Drive

I am adding a second SATA drive.  Current config in one 250G SATA in Combination mode.
Second drive installed and recognised in BIOS as SATA 2 (first one in SATA 0).
When I boot XP does not see the drive.  What do I have to do for this to happen?  Do I have to change to a RAID config?

make sure you enabled the drive in the bios.....if its enabled..go into admin tools i  the control panel of windows and then go to computer managemnet then disk management and you should see the drive there...right click on it and you may have to enable it there and thenyou can partition and format it there also....then reboot and windows should see it now......
