Problem after adding hard drive

My Dimension 4600 computer came with a 20 GB hard drive.  I have just installed a second hard drive ... 120 GB ... by the book.  The computer works fine, but when I go to MY COMPUTER and view the properties of LOCAL DRIVE C, the figures are as they were for the original drive as far as gigabytes used and gigabytes free, etc. are concerned.  Should the additional hard drive show up under some other letter designation? Can someone enlighten me?  Thanks.

Once your partition and format the drive, via Disk Management, it will show up.

Is your 20gb drive a "value" drive, i.e. 5400 rpm? If so, I'd make the 120gb primary and the 20gb secondary and get a speed bump.

What have you set the IDE jumpers to CS(cable select)? or MA or SL?
