We’ve heard it time and again: backup is backup. You set it then forget it. While that mindset still lingers, organizations are quickly pivoting to acknowledge backup as a critical element of an overall business resiliency strategy and a prerequisite when setting up a cyber recovery vault. To assist organizations in transitioning to an efficient, centralized backup environment, Dell Technologies has announced Product Success Accelerator (PSX) for Backup.
This newest PSX service streamlines and simplifies activities for planning, deployment and optimization, as well as operations of Dell Data Protection solutions – all in a single offer.
PSX for Backup Fast-tracks Your Readiness
According to Dell Technologies Global Data Protection index, 69% of survey respondents are concerned they will experience a disruptive event in the next 12 months.¹ With companies facing increasing threats due to weather, natural disasters or malicious attacks, proper backup planning is an essential first step in preparedness, ensuring you have a clean backup to enable data recovery.
PSX for Backup provides a range of predefined tasks consolidated to fast-track readiness. Our solution-level technology experts coordinate activities throughout every stage of the PSX journey, from initial day one planning and deployment through day two operational assistance.
It’s an integrated end-to-end approach that delivers high-value outcomes and confidence that you have the right technologies, processes and expertise at the right time to meet your most critical priorities.
Streamlined for Ongoing Success
Every Product Success Accelerator offer gives you a choice of three options with incremental levels of service.
With PSX for Backup, the initial “Ready” level configures the hardware and software and delivers a fully functioning backup solution accompanied by runbook documentation to support ongoing operations.
The “Optimize” level adds quarterly assessments with detailed recommendations for hardware, software and firmware updates or for policy and runbook changes. It also includes expert assistance with restore test simulations to ensure systems are performing as designed.
For companies that require an additional level of expertise, the “Assist” level builds on the features of Ready and Optimize with daily 8×5 operational assistance (eight hours a day, five days a week) to help monitor performance, investigate alerts, initiate corrective actions or assist with solution hardware and software updates.
With any PSX service, you’ll receive a detailed success plan, which provides a roadmap to achieve target outcomes. Key elements include:
-
- Product training curricula tailored for each PSX level
- Key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure overall backup solution performance
- An activity plan detailing daily, weekly and quarterly actions for backup solution operations and maintenance
“Integrated lifecycle services designed to achieve specific outcomes can help organizations maximize the value of their IT investments, especially when implemented with documented measures for success. Comprehensive end-to-end services with defined methodologies and proven best practices, delivered with advanced services expertise, go a long way to ensure underlying infrastructure is implemented and operating as designed, often with cost and time-saving benefits.”

Backup and Cyber Recovery – Better Together
Increasingly, IT decision-makers are focused not only on efficient backup, but also on securing and isolating data in the event of a cyberattack. Announced earlier this year, PSX for Cyber Recovery provides similar levels of service as PSX for Backup but is focused on Dell’s Cyber Recovery vault solution. Together, these PSX services strengthen your end-to-end security posture by combining the right expertise to get up and running quickly, reduce risks, protect critical data and accelerate data recovery due outages or attacks.
PSX for Backup is the latest offer within our growing Product Success Accelerator portfolio. For additional details on both PSX for Backup and PSX for Cyber Recovery, contact your Dell representative or visit Product Success Accelerator.
