ECO LABELS Setting new standards for sustainability
Eco-labeling standards drive sustainability further by helping customers understand electronic products and the companies that make them. Here are a few examples of the programs Dell Technologies participates in, engineering devices to meet their standards and providing transparency to our customers:

ENERGY STAR The mark of energy efficiency
The ENERGY STAR rating system is globally recognized and has become a standard within various procurement tools. It sets a high bar for what constitutes an energy-efficient product across multiple categories, including computers. Approximately 90% of the Dell portfolio qualifies.
EPEAT A guide to sustainably built technology
EPEAT is a registry that evaluates electronics for their effect on the environment. It takes a lifecycle view and ranks products as Gold, Silver or Bronze based on criteria in more than 50 categories – including the reduction/elimination of environmentally sensitive materials, and even the corporate performance of its maker. Many Dell products are already registered in multiple categories across multiple countries.
TCO CERTIFIED Environmental, social and economic considerations
TCO Certified is a third-party certification that requires independent, accredited certification around a broad criterion, including requirements for socially responsible manufacturing, environmental issues, and health and safety throughout the entire product lifecycle. Dell Technologies proudly provides dozens of certified monitors, laptops and desktops.
80 PLUS Plug power efficiency
Most electronics use a power supply that converts the AC power from the mains to usable DC power – an imperfect process where some power is lost to heat resistance. The 80 Plus qualification identifies those power supplies that can achieve at least an 80% efficiency at three specific loads of work. We were the first company to achieve an 80 PLUS-Titanium power supply with 96% efficiency.
CHINA ENVIRONMENTAL LABEL (CEC) Environmental protection
CEC certification looks across the whole lifecycle of a product to evaluate its environmental impact and takes into consideration worker health, resource consumption and the use of renewable energy. By design, only around 30% of companies meet the label’s criteria. It has also become a standard for procurement.
