What is RVTools?​

RVTools is a lightweight Windows application that gives VMware administrators instant, detailed insight into their virtual environments. With an intuitive interface and robust export options, it simplifies monitoring, managing, and reporting on virtual machines, clusters, datastores, and more. Designed to save time and drive smarter decisions, RVTools transforms complex data into actionable insights quickly and effortlessly.​

⚠️Breaking Change in RVTools Collector 4.8.1

Starting with version 4.8.1, RVTools Collector will enforce secure connections by default. Collections will fail if SSL certificate issues are detected unless explicitly overridden.

If you are using scheduled tasks or cron jobs, you must update your scripts to include the new flag: -BypassSSLCheck

Alternatively, resolve SSL certificate issues on your collection targets.

👉 Failure to update may result in disrupted automated collections.

The RVTools Product Improvement Program securely sends a small amount of anonymous application and usage information over the internet using an encrypted HTTPS channel. Examples include mouse clicks on menu and navigation tabs, collection durations, application memory and CPU usage, the operating system where the application is run, and VMware vCenter or ESXi versions encountered. Aside from version information, no other data about your VMware environment is in scope. No usernames, domain names, hostnames, etc. are in scope.​
The RVTools Product Improvement Program does not collect any information, or environmental details that would identify a natural person, company, business, or market segment.​
You will have the option to participate anonymously during the RVTools installation.​
You may change your participation at any time from Edit/Preferences in the RVTools application.​
