´In the SpotLight´ is a series of conversations by Arnaud Bacros, General Manager for Belgium and Luxembourg at Dell Technologies, with his colleagues from the Benelux region. In this issue, he speaks with Steve Kenis, Sales Manager Belux Data Protection Solutions at Dell Technologies.
It is evident to all of us that cyberattacks are becoming more of a threat, day by day. In 2020, we saw an attack every 11 seconds. In 2019, this was 39 seconds. In 2023, it will be a single digit number. As long as companies keep improving their digital transformation, attacks will keep on happening.
In this video, Steve Kenis explains that there is a difference between cyber recovery and cyber security. “We know that a lot of our customers have very strong detection capabilities. That means that they are protecting data and assets. We call this cyber security. But what happens to the organization when bad actors succeed in passing those parameters?”
At that moment, critical data can get deleted. Many organizations are using the NIST Framework for their cyber recovery plans. One of the pillars of this framework is recovery. This pillar is becoming the most important one.
Isolated environment
Organizations need to have an isolated environment for their backup solutions. They also need to make sure that their data can be made immutable. Finally, it is important that this data is analyzed before something happens. Customers will find these three aspects in the security solution Dell Technologies offers. After all, we should not forget that Dell Technologies has been active on the market since 2015.
In this video, Steve Kenis tells everything about the way Dell Technologies helps organizations to protect and recover their data.
