Welcome to this tutorial on optimizing your Dell Active Pen experience with Dell Display and Peripheral Manager or DDPM. To get started, select the Active Pen from the DDPM home screen to open the overview page, where you can access settings and customization options.
Here you'll see an image of your device alone with details like the device model name and number, firmware version, connectivity status, battery level, and tabs such as Pen settings and Button Customization. In the Pen Settings tab, you can adjust tip sensitivity and tilt sensitivity using sliders for a natural writing experience.
Enhance your workflow by configuring your pen buttons for quick access to different actions. Just click on the highlighted buttons and select your desired command. For example, you can program 1 button to act as a right click and another for a left click, enabling easy navigation for designed software without using a mouse.
You could also set a button to switch between applications or open a new browser tab, streamlining your multitasking process. To further customize your active pen buttons, explore Suggested Actions, Productivity Actions, Windows Actions and Multimedia Actions to assign the functions that match your needs.
Whenever an update is available for DDPM or the Active Pen firmware, the gear icon will light up. Navigate to the Updates tab and follow the prompts to easily download and install the latest updates, keeping the DDPM application and Active Pen up to date.
