In this video we show how to adjust the BIOS and Password settings a PowerEdge C6615. Before making changes to the BIOS and password settings read through and follow the safety guidelines to protect your system from potential damage and ensure your personal safety. For more information about safety guidelines, see the C6615 Service Manual at: Dell.com/support.
In order to adjust the settings you must first remove riser 1 and riser blank. To remove expansion card riser 1, remove the 3 screws that secure the riser to the chassis. Then lift the riser from the connector on the system board. To remove the riser 2 blank, remove the 3 screws securing it to the chassis. Then lift it out of the chassis.
To clear the BIOS password move the jumper from pins 2 and 4 to 4 and 6 and reboot. Move the jumper back to re-enable the BIOS password feature. To clear the NVRAM at boot move the jumper from pins 3 and 5 to 1 and 3 and reboot. Move the jumper back to retain BIOS configuration settings at boot.
To install the riser 2 blank, align the blank with the slot on the chassis and lower it into place. Then tighten the 3 screws that secure the blank to the chassis. To install expansion card riser 1, align the riser with the slot on the chassis and lower until firmly seated. Then tighten the three screws that secure the riser to the chassis.
