In this video, we demonstrate how to replace the memory module on an Inspiron 24 5430 All-in-One, or, Inspiron 27 7730 All-in-One. Before you begin, turn off the computer and disconnect all the attached peripherals. Ensure that you always use ESD protection when working inside the computer. To begin, place the computer, display-down on flat surface, with the stand over the end. Now, locate the tab underneath each stand. Then, push a scribe into the tab, and release the stand from the display-assembly base.
Similarly, remove the other stand. Next, place your palm on the middle of the back cover, then, pry the back cover, starting from the top, to release it from the display-assembly base. Then, lift it away from the base. Remove the screws that secure the I/O cover to the display-assembly base. Pry open the corners of the I/O cover. Then, lift it away from the base. Next, remove the screws that secure the system-board shield to the display-assembly base. Then, lift it away from the base. Carefully spread apart the securing-clips on each end of the memory-module slot until the module is released. Then, Slide and remove from the slot.
To install the memory module, Align the notch on the module with the tab on the memory-module slot. Then, slide into the slot at an angle and press down until it clicks into place. Align the screw holes on the system-board shield with the screw holes on the display-assembly base. Then, replace the screws that secure the shield to the base. Align the screw holes on the I/O cover with the screw holes on the base. Then, snap the I/O cover back into place. Replace the screws that secure the I/O cover to the base.
Next, align the slots on the back cover with the slots on the computer. Then, press along the sides to snap the back cover into place. Now, insert the stand into its slot on the back of the system Similarly, install the other stand.
