This video shows how to replace the wireless card on a Latitude 5350. Before you begin, turn off the computer and disconnect all the attached peripherals. Ensure that you always use ESD protection when working inside the system. To enter service mode, press and hold the B key on the keyboard, then press the power button.
Now the computer will boot up and the owner tag information is displayed on the screen. Press any key to proceed. The computer will emit three short beeps and shut down. To begin, loosen the eight captive screws that secure the base cover to the palm-rest assembly. Using a plastic scribe, pry open the base cover from the recesses near the hinges.
Then lift the base cover off the palm-rest assembly. Ensure that your computer is in service mode. If your computer is unable to enter service mode, disconnect the battery cable from the system board, then press and hold the power button for five seconds to grab the computer and drain the flea power. To remove the wireless card, remove the screw that secures the wireless card bracket in place.
Lift the wireless card bracket off the wireless card, then disconnect the antenna cables from the card slide and remove the card out of the slot. You've successfully removed the wireless card. Now let's install the wireless card. Connect the white cable to the main connector and the black cable to the aux connector on the wireless card.
Align the notch on the card with a tab on its slot and slide it in. Then replace the screw that secures the bracket and the card in place. Next, since the battery is not a pre-requisite, if you have disconnected the battery cable, ensure to connect the battery cable, align the screw holes on the base cover with the screw holes on the palm-rest assembly. Then snap the base cover into place. Finally, tighten the eight captive screws that secure the base cover to the palm-rest assembly.
