In this video, you'll get an overview about the tabs and features providedin the VxRail Configuration Portal for VxRail deployment. By using the VxRail Configuration Portal you can plan cluster deployment and create projects to assigned clusters.
The portal guides you step by step to ensure that you're ready to deploy a VxRail cluster. Deployment of VxRail is expected to be done by experienced staff that have clearly established deployment expertise and have extensive network and VxRail infrastructure planning experience. A user-friendly graphical user interface enables you to plan and deploy your VxRail clusters in a seamless manner. To view context-sensitive information about fields and tasks performed in a wizard or dialog box, click Help.
To view more information about the complete portal, view the online help content by clicking the question mark symbol in the upper-right corner. First, on the Getting Started tab, use the links to the documentation and videos to help you plan and deploy a VxRail appliance. On the Projects tab, create a project so you can assign clusters to it. A project contains contact information from customers and service providers that are associated with one or more VxRail clusters. On the My Clusters tab, create clusters, assign them to projects, and configure clusters and networks.
When you create a cluster configuration, you associate the cluster with an existing project and then define the cluster and network settings for the cluster. On the My Pre-deployment Checklist tab, select a cluster to view the checklist associated with that cluster, and complete the tasks. Also note that you must work with your data center teams to set up networking properties for this configuration. For customized hardware installation procedures, use the SolVe Online tool. On the Deployment tab, select your cluster configuration.
There are several ways to deploy your cluster, such as using the VxRail Manager Deployment wizard, or the offline deployment tool. Cluster deployment is performed outside the VxRail Configuration Portal. After successfully deploying, complete the tasks in the My Final Checklist tab. The final checklist covers important administrative steps, such as setting up secure remote services, applying VMware licenses, and providing feedback about your deployment. Your VxRail cluster is now deployed and ready to be used in production. For more information about VxRail, visit Dell.com/Support.
