Service Tags and Express Services Codes

Your Dell printer is uniquely identified by its Service Tag and Express Service Code.

This information can be used to:

• Check your warranty status.
• Find drivers and downloads for your specific model.
• Order the correct consumables.
• Arrange warranty service.
• Help Dell support staff to find your details.

Service Tags are seven-digit alphanumeric strings, for example, A1B2C31.

Express Service Codes are thirteen-digit numerical strings, for example, 1234567890123.

2. Locating the Service Tag and Express Service Code on Your Printer 

Your Dell printer has a sticker in the toner bay giving both the service tag and express service code. There is a second sticker on the back of the printer giving the service tag only.

Some laser printers have the service tag label inside the toner compartment (Figure 3).

In some laser printers, the toner compartment is accessed from the front rather than the side and the service tag label can be found there (Figure 4).

Some laser printers have the service tag label on the back of the printer (Figure 5).

On All-in-One inkjet printers, the service tag is usually found inside the printer by raising the lid (Figure 6).

3. Printing a Settings Report to Find the Service Tag 

The service tag can usually be found on a settings report printed using the operator panel.

4. Finding the Service Tag on the Embedded Web Server (EWS) Interface 

Dell printers with a network interface, either wired or wireless, offer a browser-based configuration page. To access the EWS, type the printer IP address into your browser address bar.
