Symptomer

  • The NetWorker Web User Interface (NWUI) server package is installed on a clustered system.
  • NWUI services intermittently fail to start.
  • Unexpected authentication errors appear when trying to access or log in to NWUI.
  • NWUI produces unexpected errors and warnings when performing admin tasks within the user interface.
  • There are no details in the NetWorker Cluster Integration Guide regarding configuring NWUI in a clustered environment.

Årsag

The NetWorker Web User Interface (NWUI), and NetWorker Management Console (NMC) are not supported on cluster installations. The NetWorker Cluster Integration Guide states the following:

  • NMC and NWUI should always be used as standalone applications. Since NMC or NWUI is not cluster-aware or high available, therefore it has to be installed on the noncluster node.
  • NMC or NWUI should be configured with the cluster IP as authentication server IP.

Løsning

The NetWorker Web User Interface (NWUI) server and NetWorker Management Console (NMC) server must be installed on a separate standalone server.
