Alienware Command Center (AWCC) crashes to installation error 1603 and fails to install

When you install Alienware Command Center from the AWCC installer (setup.exe) and other Microsoft applications open or running in the background, you may receive a 1603 Installation Error message, and the installation will fail.

This error happens on systems running Windows 10 version 1709 or higher.

Supported Systems: All Alienware Systems

This error comes up because there are shared files needed for installation that are in use by other UWP (Universal Windows Platform) apps causing the installation to fail.

Solution 1

1. Close the installer
2. Close all Microsoft programs such as Microsoft Store and any application from it, MS Office applications, MS Edge, Calculator, MS tips and any other UWP application
3. Try to install Alienware Command Center again

5. Try to install Alienware Command Center again
6. If the installation finishes, go back to How to perform a Clean Boot in Windows 10 to troubleshoot software conflicts and complete the steps under How to restart normally.

Solution 2
