Data Domain: Scheduling Active Tier Cleaning on DD via Web GUI

Summary: Determining the filesystem active tier cleaning schedule and setting the schedule using the data domain web console.

Instructions

  1. Log in to Data Domain Web GUI using admin credentials.

  2. Navigate to Data Management tab > Filesystem tab. 

  3. Click on the Settings which is located in right hand side of the GUI (Gear like icon).

  4. Select Cleaning tab. Here, the option to edit the throttle and schedule is located.

  5. Set the schedule based on the requirement by modifying the frequency, time, and day.

  6. To set the default value, click the Default option highlighted next to the fields. 

  7. Save the changes.

  8. Click on the Caret icon on bottom right corner to view  the current status of Filesystem and Cleaning.

  9. To manually begin the cleaning cycle, click on Start. The same field is used to monitor the progress.


Note: The default throttle is 50 % and the default cleaning schedule is 'Tues' at '6 A.M.'
