Dell Unity: EMcopy error "Unable to add the share on target server" displayed in log file after running sharedup

Symptoms

Here is a sample of the command that was running:

\\emcopy_vnx3.test.mid \\emcopy_unity.test.mid  ALL /R /LU /SD /log:C:\Users\Administrator\Downloads\sharedup-outputagain101.txt /FI:C:\sharedup\file.txt

Sample of the error displayed:

Creating share "\\EMCOPY_UNITY.TEST.MID\emcopy_smb3"

 to export directory "C:\emcopy_fs3"...

 Error=0x00000002: Unable to add the share on target server
 NetShareAdd:The system cannot find the file specified.


 -> Share "\\EMCOPY_UNITY.TEST.MID\emcopy_smb3" not duplicated

Cause

The issue occurs if the filesystem name on both source and destination arrays are not the same.

Resolution

Created a new filesystem on the destination (Unity) with the same name as the source (VNX), and ran initial copy, incremental, then sharedup again

Creating share "\\EMCOPY_UNITY.TEST.MID\emcopy_smb3"

 to export directory "C:\emcopy_fs3"...

 -> OK
