Symptoms

Oracle Database server backup failed
Backup fails due to the error below.

ORA-19511: non RMAN, but media manager or vendor specific failure, error text:

**The database application agent cannot be used for Oracle Application Direct backups. Use the Oracle RMAN agent instead.**

Cause

DDBEA 19.13 no longer supports Oracle RMAN backup.

 

Resolution

Install Oracle RMAN agent. See the DDBEA to RMAN AGENT Migration guidelines for more details.
