Static Noise from Speakers on Select Inspiron Laptops

Symptoms
You may experience what can be described as "static noise" from the integrated speakers of select Inspiron laptops when playing music. This can also be observed on headphones connected to the computer.
Cause
This issue can be resolved by switching the Realtek audio driver with a Windows native driver (High Definition Audio Device). Follow the steps below to switch the audio driver.
Resolution
- Go to Device Manager.
- Expand Sound, Video, and Game controllers.
- Right-click RealtekAudio and click Update driver.
- Click Browse my computer for driver software.
- Click Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer.
- Select High Definition Audio Device and then Next to complete.
NOTE: If you are prompted that the driver may be unstable or not recommended, click Yes and continue to install the selected driver.
