Dell NativeEdge: How to resolve "Invalid registry URL format" error during NativeEdge Orchestrator deployment

Symptoms

During the installation, the following message could appear when a valid registry URL is entered:

Invalid format. Must be a valid url in the format of <registry>/<repository>, ex: docker.io/dell

 

Cause

This is a known problem with the installation script.
The reason for such behavior is that the validation script considers URLs containing the 's' character (what goes after the full domain name and '/' character as a wrong URL.
 

Resolution

As a workaround, create a new repository name in your registry, which does not contain the 's' character. After that, restart the installation providing the new repository name for the image registry URL.
