Virtuaalilaitteita (VDEV), jotka ovat SNAP-operaation kohteita, käytetään IBM DFDSS -apuohjelman syötteenä nauhalle kaatopaikkaa varten.

Samanaikainen kopiointi yrittää sijoittaa 00xx SNAP -istunnon DFDSS-toiminnon lähdelaitteeseen. Samanaikainen kopiointi on SNAP NOCOPY -toiminto. Samanaikainen kopiointi epäonnistuu. Syy on julkaistu TF/Clone Mainframe Snap Facility for z/OS V 10.2.0 -tuoteoppaassa, s. 90:
 

"A virtual device (VDEV) cannot have a relation with any target device."


DFDSS-kopiointi on valmis, ja VDEV voidaan tyhjentää nauhalle.

Samanaikaista kopiointia ei kuitenkaan käytetä. Paluukoodi 4 annetaan ja varoitusviesti ADR735W työlle.
