Symptoms

Many intermittent alerts mention that the system is degraded due to a disk resynchronizing, however after few mins, that disk is back again to normal state, and the system is changed from degraded to OK.

The behavior is observed on many different disks.

These disks do not go to faulted state, only resyncing and back again to normal.



 

Cause

This is a known issue in the Hitachi Aries-K Plus drives firmware.



Resolution

It is announced that the fix will be available in the Drive Firmware: NAM4.

Please upgrade the Frimware of the Hitachi drives to NAM4 once the upgrade is available.
