Symptoms

  • Installation failed on dependency error
Error: Failed dependencies:

        /bin/ksh is needed by lgtoclnt-8.2.1.1-1.x86_64

        libcap.so.1()(64bit) is needed by lgtoclnt-8.2.1.1-1.x86_64

        libstdc++.so.5()(64bit) is needed by lgtoclnt-8.2.1.1-1.x86_64

        libstdc++.so.5(CXXABI_1.2)(64bit) is needed by lgtoclnt-8.2.1.1-1.x86_64

        libstdc++.so.5(GLIBCPP_3.2)(64bit) is needed by lgtoclnt-8.2.1.1-1.x86_64

        libstdc++.so.5(GLIBCPP_3.2.2)(64bit) is needed by lgtoclnt-8.2.1.1-1.x86_64

Cause

  • Missing the following rmp from the default Suse Linux 12 OS installation package. 
    compat-libstdc++-33-3.2.3-68.1.x86_64.rpm
l libcap1-1.10-47.1.x86_64.rpm

Resolution

To resolve this issue, install the following OS packages and then run the rpm command again: 
l compat-libstdc++-33-3.2.3-68.1.x86_64.rpm
l libcap1-1.10-47.1.x86_64.rpm
