Symptoms

升級後，Linux VM 上的 VMware Tools 已過時。

Cause

VMware Tools 無法自動更新。

Resolution

必須下載並手動更新 VMware 工具。

  • 下載 VMware 工具套件 （使用版本下拉式功能表確認最新版本）：
  • 從 .zip 套件解壓縮 linux.iso 檔案
  • 透過 SCP 或 SFTP 將linux.iso檔案上傳至虛擬機器上的 /tmp
  • 連線至虛擬機器主控台。
  • 確認掛載點是否存在或建立一個掛載點： 
    • mkdir /mnt/iso
  • 掛接 ISO： 
    • mount /tmp/linux.iso /mnt/iso
  • 將安裝程式檔案複製至 /tmp 目錄： 
    • cp /mnt/iso/VMwareToos-*.tar.gz /tmp
  • 解壓縮安裝程式檔案： 
    • cd /tmp 
tar -zxvf VMwareTools-*.tar.gz
  • 執行安裝： 
    • cd vmware-tools-distrib
./vmware-install.pl
  • 完成安裝提示。
  • 安裝完成後取消掛接 ISO：
  • umount /mnt/iso


備註：

  • 如果發現由於 RPM 或 DEB 套裝安裝而無法繼續安裝的錯誤，請尋找 vmware-tools 目錄並變更名稱。或者，將其移動到其他位置，然後再次嘗試安裝。
  • 為了成功編譯 VMware 工具，需要 Linux 發行版提供的“gcc 編譯器”和 Linux 內核原始程式碼。有關安裝這些包的方法的詳細資訊，請參閱您的 Linux 分發文檔。
  • 在安裝期間，顯示器大小變更時主控台螢幕短暫空白是正常現象。
  • [選用]若要刪除 VMware Tools 安裝套件，請執行： 
    • cd
rm /tmp/VMwareTools-*.tar.gz
rm -rf /tmp/vmware-tools-distrib
