NVP-vProxy: vCenter plugin fails to be installed from NMC

Symptoms



  • When trying to install vCenter plugin from NMC, it fails with:

Error:  Operation Failed. Failed to install vCenter plugin
  • If we check the tomcat log: /nsr/authc-server/tomcat/logs/localhost_access_log.date,
  • we can't see any related nwrestapi messages.
  • Enabled java debug on java console; upon cliking on install plugin, this error is shown in the java console:
Error: java.net.UnknownHostException: NWserver.domain

Cause

The machine used was not able to resolve the NetWorker server hostname.

Resolution

Allow name resolution from the machine accessing the NMC, to the NetWorker server.
