Symptoms
When deleting a volume in ViPR that has no backend volume representation, the following error occurs:
Can't remove volume from ViPR even though the backend volume is not present | Error: Failed to delete volume Reason:'HTTP code: 400, Bad Request [{"code":1008,"retryable":false,"description":"Parameter was provided but invalid","details":"The operation was attempted on an internal volume such as, a VPLEX back-end volume, which is not allowed."}]'
Cause
When ViPR tries to remove the volume, it checks the backend array for this volume but doesn't find it since it's not present.
Resolution
Perform the below steps:
- Delete the Volume from the GUI using Inventory only Option
- This will remove the volume from ViPR only and will not attempt to delete the volume from the backend.
