Encountering NBSF-1005 when upgrading FOS
Summary: Upgrading switches from 7.2.1a to 7.3.1d and experienced FSPF link issues on multiple ISL ports causing routing issues and subsequent impact to the environment during the upgrade. ISL trunks to edge switches were bounced from the core switch to recover the ISL links. ...

Cause
Identified as DEFECT000577166, fixed in: FOS7.3.1e, FOS7.3.2a, FOS7.4.1c, FOS8.0.1.
The issue is when the SFP is swapped when the port is in a disabled state, there is no indication before hand that there is an inconsistency.
If the switch is upgraded to firmware with the code fix, then this will not be a problem.
If the switch is not at a code with the fix then it is recommended that anytime that a new port is brought online, that the user subsequently run the command "sfpshow / -f" this will always properly update the SFP information.

Resolution
Bounce F ports or ISL trunk ports if the ports are already in this state, or do an sfpshow <port> -f to avoid the issue before an upgrade from FOS v7.0.x releases up to FOS v7.4.1, 7.4.1a and 7.4.1b, or directly upgrade to FOS FOS7.3.1e, FOS7.3.2a, FOS7.4.1c, FOS8.0.1 with the fix. This also affects FOS v7.3.1c, v7.3.1d, v7.2.1f and v7.2.1g.
