AER cannot import data with error 'Exit code 74: Account not found in the Avamar database"
Cannot import AER data
The export was successful.

Error is AdaGrdiTrace.log:

2016-10-14 12:25:33,532 ERROR [BusListener]-c.e.a.m.AvamarSystem: AvamarSystem.createClient(/ExtendedRetention/REPLICATE/(AV server)/clients/(clinet): Caught Runtime Fault Message Exception from the Web Services with message '0  ERROR!  Exit code 74: Account not found in the Avamar database'.  Rethrowing as AvamarModelException.
2016-10-14 12:25:33,533 ERROR [BusListener]-grid.TapeRestoreTask: Unable to create domain/client path to perform tape restore.

mminfo shows the data is exported fine to tape and is in good status:

daemon.log in AER server's /nsr/logs shows some DNS errors.
ping from AER node to the clients does not work properly.

Cause

There is a DNS and name resolution issue in the environment.

Resolution

To resolve this issue fix the name resolution issues in the environment, or work around it by populating /etc/hosts file in AER server.

In this particular instance, one of the DNS name servers in /etc/resolv.conf in the AER node was not working properly.
The problem was resolved after replacing the affected DNS name server with a functional name server.
