Resolution

This issue was caused by PowerPath 5.5 P06.

PowerPath 5.5 is NOT supported VMAX3 on AIX platform as of the creation of this Sales Force article.
PowerPath 5.7 SP2 supports VMAX3 with limited features.

PowerPath 6.0 and later versions provide full support to VMAX3.

as of the creation of this Sales Force article.

So the resolution is to Upgrade to Powerpath 6.0.0.0 or higher which will correct the unique_id by making them the same.

Additional Information

Having different versions of ODM as in this case did not cause this issue.
