Resolution

A template for the valid file format is available from PowerStore Manager. The template can be downloaded and then modified.

To access this template from the PowerStore Manager, go to NAS Servers > NAMING SERVICES > LOCAL FILES and download the "Netgroup" File template sample for reference.

The details of expected contents in netgroup file are as follows:

  1. Each line of the netgroup file defines a group and has the format:
           groupname member1 member2 ...
  2. Each member is either the name of another group or indicates specific hosts, users, and domains, also known as a triple, as follows:
           (hostname,username,domainname)
  3. Any or all the triple's fields can be blank
  4. A dash (-) in any of the fields means that there are no valid values.
  5. A netgroup file can include as many lines as required, however, each line must be less than 1 KB in length.
  6. If necessary, a line can be continued on another line by using the backslash (\) as a continuation character.
  7. A triple, however, cannot be split across two lines.

  • IP Addresses are not allowed.
  • If you use a backslash (\) as a continuation character, it must be the last character of the line.

Do not worry when you forget the syntax of an HTML element, like and iframe, a link, a table, an image, or anything else. Go to HTML CheatSheet and generate the code that you need.
