Dell BitLocker Manager System Requirements
Summary: Learn about the system requirements that must be met when installing Dell BitLocker Manager or Dell Data Protection BitLocker Manager.
Instructions
Network, hardware, and software requirements must be addressed before installing Dell BitLocker Manager (formerly Dell Data Protection | BitLocker Manager).

Network
Dell BitLocker Manager requires:
- Endpoint to be hard-wired during product installation and activation
- Network connectivity to the Dell Security Management Server (formerly Dell Data Protection Server) for authentication
- By default, Dell Security Management Server uses ports:
- 8443 for activation
- 8888 for authentication
- IPV6 is not supported.
If Dell BitLocker Manager uses On-the-Box (OTB) entitlements (licenses), then cloud.dell.com over port 443 must be added to the allowlist.

Minimum hardware requirements:

- 110 MB of free disk space
- 512 MB RAM
- Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 or 1.2
