Dell Monitor Usage Guidelines

For Dell LCD monitors, consider the following guidelines for optimal usage time:

  • Typically, the LCD monitor panel has a backlight luminance life of 30k (30,000) hours (differs by model).
  • The LCD panel duty cycle is designed for 12 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Usage higher than the designed duty cycle may result in premature decrease in panel backlight luminance, which may not be covered under warranty.
     

To help with optimal usage of your Dell monitor, follow the recommended guidelines below:

  • Implement screen savers to prevent image retention.
  • Implement power save mode to help extend the overall monitor and panel life.
