In sommige Dell 2017 laptops die SATA SED's gebruiken, werkt het touchpad niet in de Pre-Boot Authentication-omgeving bij gebruik van de Dell Self-Encrypting Drive Manager in de Legacy-opstartmodus.
Als de computer in de slaapstand wordt gezet wanneer de Legacy PBA is geïnstalleerd, werkt het touchpad bovendien niet in het besturingssysteem wanneer deze uit de slaapstand komt.
Deze problemen doen zich niet voor als de computer en PBA in de UEFI-modus worden uitgevoerd.

Klanten kunnen de interne Track Stick-muis of een externe USB-muis gebruiken.
Opmerking: Deze problemen zijn opgelost met Dell Encryption v8.17.1 of hoger.
