Symptoms



How to modify the DNS server IP address for VMware vRealize Log Insight after the initial configuration.

Cause

DNS server IP is missing or incorrect.

Resolution

To add or modify the DNS server IP address:
  1. Log in to the vCenter vRealize Log Insight Appliance using SSH as the root user.
  2. Open the /etc/resolv.conf file using a text editor.
  3. Add or modify the server entry with the new DNS address. For example:
    nameserver new-dns-addr
    Where new-dns-addr is the new DNS address.



    Note: If multiple DNS servers must be specified, each server must be listed on a separate line.
