Symptoms

 

User is unable to add an AIX 7.1 host to AppSync. This fails with the following errors seen in the server logs:

Cause

There had recently been a change in the user's environment which altered the parameter of PermitRootLogin in the ssh_config file on the AIX host.

Resolution

Change the parameter of PermitRootLogin in the sshd_config file to allow the AppSync server to connect to the agent.

The sshd_config file is located under /etc/ssh/sshd_config. 

In general, PermitRootLogin should be set as follows: 
debug3: /etc/ssh/sshd_config:41 setting PermitRootLogin without-password
