Cause

EULA tray bar notification was introduced as part of PowerPath Windows 6.4 release.

Resolution

Steps to disable the notification without impacting path failure alerts:
  • User needs to disable the PowerPath notification for the respective user in the Windows server. This will allow for the tray-bar notification to be disabled along with  Reboot pending  and  Unlicensed configuration  notifications.
  • Follow the Microsoft procedure to turn off PowerPath notification and this would not affect the path failure alerts.
However user needs to make sure that the host is rebooted after Install/Upgrade, since turning off the notification would turn off the reminder.

Also Engineering is planning to consider fixing this in the upcoming release of PowerPath.
