Symptoms
Attempting to add a unique host IP in the nethost file on Embedded Unisphere Virtual Appliance 9.X which generates an error: Cannot add the nethost. It already exists!
Where the full-length of the IP address being added is an exact pattern match for any IP in the list for the length of the IP being added, the add will fail with an already exists error.

Cause
A known issue.
Resolution
This is fixed in the next version of vAPP version 4 \ Juniper release 10.0.
Workarounds:
Workarounds:
- Add the values to "/var/symapi/config/nethost file manually.
- Delete the one that is the match in the existing list, add the new one and then add the existing one back in.
