Facts:
These can vary depending on Avamar version, but the Server-side code always has one digit (7.5.0-*).
The Client-side code always has three digits (7.5.100-*).
Another example is Avamar Server version 18.1.0-33 and Client version 18.1-100-33.
The versions of Avamar code on the Server itself is numbered 7.5.0-183.
The Avamar Client-side software (such as proxies) is 7.5.100-183.
These are the same release build but denoted differently to make support easier.
Platform Security Rollup
Dell releases a Platform Security Rollup on periodic basis. The example below shows how to interpret the version numbering.
- The Environment includes one or more client machines. These could be Avamar VMware proxy hosts, Exchange hosts, and so forth. The clients run Avamar software versions numbered like "7.5.100-183." The Avamar server itself is running Avamar server software version "7.5.1-183."
- Provide clarity around server and agent software release timeframes.
- The clients are running 7.5.100 while the server is running a seemingly lower version (7.5.1). This is no reason for concern.
