VMware: Cómo deshabilitar un plug-in de VMware en vCenter Server Appliance

VMware lanzó algunos avisos (VMSA-2021-0010) que requieren deshabilitar un plug-in o configurarlo como incompatible para evitar que se aproveche. Configurar el plug-in como incompatible es una solución alternativa para los clientes que no desean actualizar vCenter Server Appliance a las versiones 7.0 U2b, 6.7 U3n o 6.5 U3p, que corrigen el problema en VMSA-2021-0010.

En VMSA-2021-0010, el plug-in de evaluación del estado de vSAN afectado está habilitado de manera predeterminada en todas las implementaciones de vCenter Server, independientemente de si se utiliza vSAN.

Hechos:
Versión 6.5, 6.7 y 7.0

  1. Compruebe que el plug-in para el plug-in del cliente VMware vSAN H5 esté implementado o habilitado antes de deshabilitarlo o configurarlo como "Incompatible".

  1. Abra una sesión de PuTTY en vCenter Server Appliance.

  1. Haga una copia de seguridad del compatibility-matrix.xml. Este archivo se encuentra en la siguiente ubicación:
/etc/vmware/vsphere-ui/compatibility-matrix.xml

Para realizar un respaldo del archivo, realice lo siguiente:

cp -v /etc/vmware/vsphere-ui/compatibility-matrix.xml /etc/vmware/vsphere-ui/compatibility-matrix.xml.backup
  1. Abra el compatibility-matrix.xml de archivos con un editor de texto como VI:
vi /etc/vmware/vsphere-ui/compatibility-matrix.xml

El archivo sin editar se parece a la captura de pantalla que aparece a continuación:

  1. Para deshabilitar el plug-in y configurarlo como "Incompatible", agregue la siguiente línea, como se muestra en la captura de pantalla que aparece a continuación, Guarde el archivo y Salir.

  1. Detenga y reinicie el vsphere-ui mediante los siguientes comandos:
# service-control --stop vsphere-ui

# service-control --start vsphere-ui

  1. Vuelva a iniciar sesión en la sesión de vSphere Client, ya que ya no está autenticada para validar que el plug-in de VMware vSAN H5 Client esté configurado como incompatible.
