Symptoms

Does NetWorker support Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) or Multifactor Authentication (MFA)?

Cause

NetWorker does not support Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) or Multifactor Authentication (MFA) for Active Directory/LDAP Users.

Resolution

NetWorker 19.12 added MFA capability for local NetWorker accounts using Google Authenticator 6.0 (and later) application.

Request For Enhancement (RFE) NW-I-1764 has been filed with a request to add supportability for MFA with external (AD/LDAP) accounts. If you would like to track this RFE, contact your Dell Account or Sales team with RFE NW-I-1764.
