Symptoms
- NetWorker server is 19.11.x.
- Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) has been enabled for local NetWorker user accounts.
- Multiple "NWUI: MFA" entries are created in Google Authenticator.
Cause
This issue was raised to NetWorker engineering.
Resolution
Upgrade the NetWorker server to 19.13.0.0 (or later)
After registering NetWorker MFA in Google Authenticator (6.0 or later), a single "Server_Name/NWUI/username: MFA" resource is created in the authenticator application. This same resource's Time-based One-time Password (TOTP) can be used during subsequent logins for the user account.
NOTE: The specific issue outlined in this KB is resolved in NetWorker 19.12.0.0; however, 19.13.0.0 is recommend as per: NetWorker 19.12: MFA Integration Provides QR Registration After Every Login
