  • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) has been enabled for local NetWorker user accounts.
  • Multiple "NWUI: MFA" entries are created in Google Authenticator.

Cause

Resolution

Upgrade the NetWorker server to 19.13.0.0 (or later)

After registering NetWorker MFA in Google Authenticator (6.0 or later), a single "Server_Name/NWUI/username: MFA" resource is created in the authenticator application. This same resource's Time-based One-time Password (TOTP) can be used during subsequent logins for the user account.

NOTE: The specific issue outlined in this KB is resolved in NetWorker 19.12.0.0; however, 19.13.0.0 is recommend as per: NetWorker 19.12: MFA Integration Provides QR Registration After Every Login
