PowerProtect Data Manager: Protection Policy for FCI SQL Cluster clears Nodes which have No Assets Assigned

Summary: PowerProtect Protection Policy for FCI SQL cluster does not leave nodes selected if one or more nodes do not have assets assigned.

Symptoms

A Protection Policy for an FCI SQL cluster configuration is edited or created. After this, any SQL node that was selected as part of the policy becomes cleared once the policy is saved.

When opening the policy again, the SQL node that did not have any assets assigned to it becomes cleared:
 
The SQL node that did not have any assets assigned to it will become unselected

If the FCI SQL cluster fails over to the cleared node, when the Protection Policy is run, no assets are backed up.

Cause

A software defect causes this issue.

Resolution

This issue is resolved in PowerProtect Data Manager 19.15 or later.
