Symptoms
バックアップが次のエラーで失敗します。
Unable to create snapshot. Unable to take a snapshot for virtual machine 'vm-24655' after multiple retry attempts. An error occurred while quiescing the virtual machine. See the virtual machine's event log for details.
仮想マシンのイベント ログを確認すると、関連するエラーは見つかりませんでした。
仮想マシン vmware.logには、次の情報が表示されます。
[msg.snapshot.quiesce.startfail] Failed to start quiescing operation in the virtual machine.
静止ゲスト ファイル システム セットを使用してスナップショットをテストすると、正常に完了しますが、「 ゲスト ファイル システムの停止 = いいえ」と表示されます。
Cause
問題はPPDMの範囲外です。VMware ToolsとゲストOS間の何らかのやり取り。
Resolution
仮想マシン上のVMware Toolsをアンインストールして再インストールします。
スナップショットをテストし、「 Quiesce Guest File System」=「Yes」を確認します。
これでバックアップを完了できるはずです。
